Gilles has pulled from his archives, negatives created in 1982-83, to produce a new limited edition of beautiful black & white prints. Manipulated Landscapes examines man’s need to alter the environment in the pursuit of progress. These photos chronicle the destruction and construction of freeway overpasses. Using a flash and extended exposure Gilles seems to animate these monolithic concrete structures in his photographs.
