“Movement, energy, color, organic shapes – all are equally important to me whether painting, drawing, or making books and prints. The images are abstract and evolve through the process of working. Influences vary from elements of history, music, and nature, to anything absorbed from the current environment that suggests our shifting world. The intent is to create an image reflective of that particular moment in time.” – Sandra Beard

Sandra Beard moved to California from Canada. She received her B.A. in Fine Art from the University of Ottawa, Ontario and a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Jose State University. Other studies include working with Master Printer, Joe Zirker, printing at KALA, in residence at Edna St. Vincent Millay Colony and the Vermont Studio Center. Her prints and paintings have been exhibited locally and internationally: Spain, France, England, Korea, New Zealand and Denmark. She is a juried member of the California Society of Printmakers, the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, and the Boston Printmakers and currently maintains a studio in Sacramento.
