Aida Lizalde is a multi-disciplinary artist and activist working in sculpture, performance, video, and installations. She works with the body, ceramics, construction materials, and even food, to investigate issues of citizenship, power, heritage, nationality and other personal and political experiences. Navigating tensions of identity through passive and active roles with materials and actions and continuously questioning assimilation to the United States as an immigrant is at the core of her practice.
