My work explores themes of displacement, otherness, and métissage, arising from experiences navigating disparate cultures and environments. This sense of "rootlessness" requires constant translation and adaptation, fueling my curiosity about how we process and mediate changing conditions through images and language.
Drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions of picture-making, I investigate varying approaches to space, perspective, and mark-making. My practice combines drawing, painting, and printmaking, incorporating images and symbols from personal archives and public sources. These elements form a visual vocabulary that drives my process, creating dialogues between different modes of representation and cultural frameworks.
Through this interweaving of techniques and references, I create visual conversations that exist in the liminal spaces between belonging and alienation. My work explores possibilities of understanding and connection across perceived boundaries.
