Kerry Cottle is a visual artist and educator based in Sacramento, California. Her work is an ongoing meditation on material, abstraction, and color aimed at symbolically reconsidering, restoring, and/or subverting flawed value systems. Led by the somatic and intuitive processes of making, Kerry explores the depth of possibility within recycled and biodegradable materials by reformulating accumulated junkmail, locally sourced plant and mineral pigment, and bioplastics into medium. Additionally, she works with the traditional painting mediums of oil and canvas, integrating them with reflective glass beads and paper pulp.

Kerry was born in Houston, TX and received an MFA and a certificate in Race and Social Justice from the University of New Mexico. She teaches art to people of all ages in Northern California.
