Peter Foucault is excited to present a new series of works that are inspired by a painting titled Playtime, that the artist created during the Pandemic. The painting was inspired by the 1967 Jacques Tati film Playtime and represents a period in time where the artist had endless hours in his studio to experiment with different ideas, systems and mediums. Foucault is striving to reconnect with that expansive epoch when he enters his studio today. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. This show also explores the dichotomy of work and play and how the two can intersect. The artist acknowledges this exhibition is taking place during a historically intense and dividing Presidential Election and hopes to offer a place of contemplation outside of that arena where one can focus on play, abstraction, line, color and form.
