REAL REAL REALITY

to see or not to see…

Artist Cherilyn Naughton will present an installation exhibition July 5 – 27 at Axis Gallery’s new location in the Verge Center for the Arts building at 7th and S Streets in Sacramento. The installation will address contemporary issues, from global to personal, that influence decisions we make on a daily basis that determine the quality of life on our planet. An interactive performance will also be presented; check the Second Saturday listings for specific days and times. Sound elements provided by Tom Reddock/Sonic Sculptures; and BraveYoung.

Naughton’s work in recent years has mainly been devoted to social commentary, presented in various media – from finely detailed rule-based drawings that evoke biological references, to large sculptures often built from natural or recycled elements.  As always, her work provokes the question: Is it really okay to do anything we want just because we can?
