Axis presents Trilogy 1 (Il y a longtemps que je t'aime-I Have Loved You So Long), new installation works by Doug Dertinger, in the Axis East Gallery, April 4-27, 2025. Drawing upon and archive of images, artworks, and personal items from 1991 to 2001, Trilogy 1 continues the artist’s exploration of memory, loss, and desire. Trilogy 1 (Il y a longtemps que je t'aime-I Have Loved You So Long), is the first of three consecutive exhibitions/works at the Axis Gallery, Trilogy 2 (Сталкер-Stalker) 2026, and Trilogy 3 (Au revour les infants-Goodbye, Children) 2027.

Doug Dertinger is an artist and educator living in Sacramento, CA. Born and raised in the Pacific NW, Dertinger completed his undergraduate studies in art at Colorado State University (1996) and his graduate studies in art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (2000). Since 2008, he has resided in Northern California where he teaches in the Photography Program at CSU Sacramento.
